Mind Over Machines Developers Receive NIH Merit Awards Baltimore, MD - November 5, 2003 - Mind Over Machines, Inc., an information technology solutions provider to government and commercial accounts, announced that the National Institutes of Health (NIH) has bestowed Merit Awards to seven Company software programmers in recognition of their exemplary development and project management work on two enterprise-wide software projects— the Integrated Time and Attendance System (ITAS) and the NIH Log-in. The commendations were presented today at the NIH Center for Information Technology during the Annual Awards Ceremony. "We are proud to have our employees recognized in such a prestigious NIH forum for their outstanding contributions on two state-of-the-art, enterprise-class web applications," said Ron Monford, President and CEO. "Their technology leadership and the resulting high level of customer satisfaction with their work is a testament to their talent and to our Company’s ability to perform complex development projects on time and on budget." In a recent ITAS customer satisfaction survey that included several thousand NIH respondents, the ITAS Technical Team was cited for consistently providing excellent service and support to NIH within the allotted budget. The ITAS team was recognized during the ceremony for "excellence in delivering state of the art software for managing the timekeeping activities of NIH, while maintaining high levels of service and customer satisfaction." Participating on the ITAS team from Mind Over Machines are the following award recipients: Inderjit Bakshi, Enrico Bernoni, Chuck Crandall, Nishant Gangadhara, Inna Marder and Paul Phillips. ITAS is a web-based application that handles the attendance recording and payroll processing for more than 18,000 NIH employees and the majority of the operational divisions in the Department of Health and Human Services. For the ITAS Technical Team, the project involved an 18-month development period including significant efforts in planning, designing, building, testing, training, guidance, and support. Once operational, ITAS greatly reduced the burden of timekeeping for NIH and saved significant resources. In addition, Mind Over Machines employees Usha Akkinapalli and Chuck Crandall were recognized at the awards ceremony for their efforts and skills in developing the NIH Login project, "providing a simplistic, unified and secure way to access enterprise and IC-specific applications across the NIH." The NIH Login allows employees to utilize a single set of NIH- issued credentials to work with any NIH Login-enabled system. NIH Login integrates with ITAS, delivering additional benefits to users by eliminating the previous requirements of multi-system or program log-in procedures. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
