Mind Over Machines Acquires Natoli Design Group
CEO Tom Loveland cites client benefits in acquisition of UX design firm

Owings Mills, MD – February 4, 2008 -- Mind Over Machines, a provider of intelligent enterprise applications to government and commercial clients, has acquired Natoli Design Group, a User Experience (UX) design firm serving Fortune 1000 clients including Condé Nast, SC Johnson, Chamberlain and Lucent.

Natoli’s UX services include Ethnographic Research, Information Architecture, Usability Engineering and User Interface Design. Founder and CEO Joe Natoli, along with all employees of the company, joined Mind Over Machines in October. Natoli serves as Director of User Experience.

In announcing the merger, Mind Over Machines CEO Tom Loveland said, “Natoli’s proven talent, reputation and experience strategically complement Mind Over Machines’ service offerings. Our current clients are already seeing enormous benefit from the work Joe’s team has done. This potent mix – thoughtful interface design and powerful application development – creates intuitive products that allow people to do their jobs more easily and efficiently.”

For Natoli, the merger was an easy decision. “We had been approached several times before. While a couple of those deals might have made financial sense, the cultural fit just wasn’t there, and the opportunity to really create value for customers wasn’t there. Mind Over Machines supports the entrepreneurial culture I created at Natoli Design Group. I’m not ready to retire, and the team that helped me build this company deserved my consideration. Tom and I believe that our job is to hire the absolute best talent, create a motivating work environment, and get out of the way.”

The combined enterprise will consolidate their two Baltimore-area offices into the Mind Over Machines headquarters facility over the next several months. Additional information on the company’s combined capabilities will appear on the corporate web site over the coming weeks.
